Accessibility Statement
MediTask is committed to making its mobile application accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to our website and mobile application v2.0.1.
Compliance status
MediTask is currently working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines define international standards for ensuring digital accessibility and usability.
Based on the latest accessibility evaluation, MediTask is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This means that while many features support accessibility, certain areas require further improvement to ensure full conformance.

Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
(a) non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The following parts of the MediTask mobile application do not yet fully comply with WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements:
1. Insufficient Color Contrast
Some text and button colors—particularly purple text on light backgrounds—do not meet the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
Impact: Users with low vision or those in bright environments may struggle to read text.
Relevant WCAG Standard: 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum).

2. Touch Targets Below Minimum Size
Certain interactive elements such as icon buttons and the Floating Action Button (FAB) may be smaller than the required 44×44 dp.
Impact: Users with motor impairments, tremors, or limited dexterity may find it difficult to tap accurately.
Relevant WCAG Standard: 2.5.5 Target Size (Minimum).

3. Missing or Insufficient Accessibility Labels
Icons such as Menu, Profile, Settings, and Add Task, and certain illustrations, do not include descriptive accessibility labels or alt text.
Impact: Screen reader users may not know what an icon represents or which action it performs.
Relevant WCAG Standards: 1.1.1 Non-text Content, 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.
4. Task Status Indicators Relying on Color Alone
Task states (e.g., Assigned, In Progress, Completed) are often conveyed only by color.
Impact: Users with color blindness may not be able to identify task status.
Relevant WCAG Standard: 1.4.1 Use of Color.
5. Limited Form Guidance and Error Feedback
Some form fields lack helper text, and error messages are not always displayed or clearly described.
Impact: Users may not understand what information is required or why an input was rejected.
Relevant WCAG Standards: 3.3.1 Error Identification, 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions.
6. Dynamic Updates Not Announced to Screen Readers
Actions such as task completion, acceptance, or verification are not announced using live regions.
Impact: Users relying on screen readers may not know when an action has succeeded.
Relevant WCAG Standard: 4.1.3 Status Messages.
7. Missing Focus Indicators
Some interactive elements do not show a visible focus outline.
Impact: Users navigating via keyboard or switch control cannot see where their focus is.
Relevant WCAG Standard: 2.4.7 Focus Visible.

(b) disproportionate burden
At present, MediTask is not invoking any disproportionate burden exemptions.
However, certain advanced accessibility enhancements—such as complete semantic restructuring and full ARIA live-region automation—are planned for phased implementation across development cycles to avoid disruption to core service operations.
If future evaluations identify elements requiring temporary exemption due to technical or resource constraints, this section will be updated accordingly.

(c) the content is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
The following content is out of scope of the current accessibility regulations:
1. Backend Processing Logic
Internal server logic, task assignment algorithms, and API integrations are not covered under WCAG accessibility requirements.
2. Non-user-facing System Components
These include background processes, database operations, and administrative-only modules not presented to end users.
3. Third-party Illustrations Marked as Decorative

Illustrations used for styling or onboarding visuals that do not convey essential information are considered decorative and are therefore not required to meet alt-text criteria.
Where appropriate, such illustrations are already marked as decorative in the design specification.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
This accessibility statement was prepared on 29th November 2025.
The statement was created following a comprehensive self-assessment of the MediTask mobile application. The evaluation was conducted using the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard and was based on a full accessibility audit covering visual design, navigation, interaction patterns, forms, task flows, and assistive technology compatibility. The assessment included manual testing, screen reader checks, design review, and component-level analysis.

This self-assessment was carried out by the product team using the WCAG 2.2 Accessibility Evaluation Report prepared by Shashwat Singh Raghav.

The statement was last reviewed on 29th November 2025.

The accessibility status will be reviewed annually or following any significant update to the MediTask application to ensure the information in this statement remains accurate and reflects the latest accessibility improvements.
